SBS22 Blog Hop Challenge

It's a couple days late but here you go. This month Tina and I are hosting our SBS22 Blog Hop Challenge. So we are to post a challenge on the first of the month for our fellow blogging sisters...at the end of the month you can pop around and visit their blogs to see all the awesome creations. If you'd like to play along feel free, the more the merrier.

So for my challenge - I challenge you to make a card with Paper Piecing, now if your not sure how to do it I've taken some pictures of my card as I was making it to give you the general idea. Paper piecing works best with images that have large open spaces, if not you will have to be really good with the scissors :-)
So you stamp your image on white paper and patterned paper.
Cut out the pieces that you want to be from the patterned paper. It is best to cut as close to the lines as possible.

On the white image you colour in any sections that are going to be left original. In this one I am paper piecing the hat and cape. I realized when I was putting the paper piecing on that I forgot to colour her tail and hair, hehe.

Then you can glue your patterned pieces to the coloured image. I recomend a glue pen and applying the glue to the white image first. I opted to cut out the whole image after and apply to my card with pop dots.

I also paper pieced the cauldron with the same patterned paper. All images are from the SU set Haunting Halloween. Except for the little spider which is from Studio G.

Come play along.

Edited - I just thought of so much more to add. Like the inside of the card to complete the saying and I have a close up of the cauldron. I added crystal effects to the bubbling potion.
Happy Stamping!
Sarah

  1. COOL! Thanks for the challenge. I can't wait! I've been meaning to do this for a while but never had the chance to. This is perfect, now my only problem is which project to do!

Love your card! It's a cute set!
