Christmas Cards

Here are a couple of cards that I finally put together from last years images.  I had them stamped coloured and embossed all last year and just sitting there waiting to be put together.  Finally I came up with an idea, punched out some silver snowflakes from a spellbinders and added some acrylic snowflakes.

They are simple but cute.

Stay tuned for more Christmas cards.  I've been busy colouring and cutting and can't wait to show you.

Here is my first ever 3D paper heart - yes, I know, it looks like an apple :-)
My inspiration for this came from a very talented woman on you tube Tubeyoumaster1.  You really need to check out her channel.  She has some the most amazing projects.  I was watching her 3D paper cupcake video and really wanted to try something out so instead of a cupcake I chose a heart.  I decided to open one side of my heart and decorate in it so help it look more like a heart.  I used a 6x6 My Minds Eye - A Happy Heart paper stack and yes it was all 24 sheets of paper from the stack.  Everything was sprayed with Gold Glimmer Mist and Caramel Apple Glimmer Mist.  The flowers and leaves are from I am Roses.  The acrylic flowers spray is Recollections.  Everything else is from my stash.

Take a look at the video for a little better look.  I really enjoyed making this and will definitely be making more - might even try the cupcake for some birthday presents.

First of the Christmas Cards

I finally finished a couple of Christmas cards that I've been working on for a little bit.  The images are from Pink Gem Studios - they were some that my mom had stamped and given to me last year so they've been hanging around a bit :-)

I finally pulled out my Spectrum Noir Markers and started to colour.  I chose my colours by picking the paper first, which was a little 6x6 pad of Snow Day by Crate Paper - they happened to get some in at Home Sense (so I bought two).

Here is the inside of the first card.  I used my new Spellbinders die from page maps - Jar Labels (also purchased at Home Sense).  I added a little bit of lace trim from Hobby Lobby and a beautiful white glittered poinsettia from Michaels $1.50 bin.  Oh and the sentiment is from Paper Smooches.
And here is the second one - also from Pink Gem Studios - I really love how their hair turned out, love love love my Spectrum Noir Markers.  This one I added in some of my new trim from Mary Maxim and a little bit of rose trim from Crafts 2000.  The dies in this one were from the same Spellbinders set - Jar Labels.

I did add some mulberry paper in the background that had silver embossed dots on it, for something a little different and sparkly.
Well hope you enjoy.  I have a couple other ones that I'm working on with some different images and traditional reds and greens.  So many ideas but so little time!

Christmas Ornament #1

We did a little shopping in the states today :-) and of course got some crafty stuff!  You'll have to check out my video on you-tube to see some of my goodies.  I also included some finds from Wal-mart here at home.
Madison picked out these light bulb ornaments from Mary Maxim so we got a couple of them.  Jonathan brought home his school pictures on Friday which worked out perfectly.

Take a look at the finished ornament - super cute.  I tied some red and white twine around the top and added a holly confetti which is a thick chipboard full of glitter - I found them in the giftwrap section of Wal-mart in the states.  I added a half back pearl to the center.

Inside is some micro bead and tinsel glitter and then I added a little tiny light bulb that I cut off a piece of trim in my stash.

We will have to wait until next week for Madison to bring home her picture so that we can make her ornament.

And stay tuned for some christmas cards - we are really getting into the holiday spirit now!
