Jonathan's Haunted House

Madison came home from school today with a haunted house that she had made in craft club and of course she wanted to make more and of course Jonathan wanted to make one too.  Madison did not get her's done yet, but Jonathan did - and he made a video.  That has been uploaded to YouTube HERE.

Jonathan says that he is the best Halloween crafter in the world :-)
The house itself is made out of a recycled box and covered with popsicle sticks and painted really messy with black acrylic paint.  Madison's roof was covered with popsicle sticks also but I was running out so I came up with the spooky shingled roof which holds the spider webs really well.

I gave him some plastic spiders and some other paper embellishments that were in our stash, including the punched halloween fence - one of my favorites.

The moon was really cool and looks so great above his house.

Check out his video - he goes into g-g-g-g-great detail on all the little things.  So Cute!
This one is the punched Stampin Up! owl.

Don't forget you still have time to enter my Birthday Give Away!!

Altered Tea Box and Discount Paper Crafts

While I was looking for inspiration on YouTube I came across a video from MsLiberty25 telling us all about Discount Paper Crafts on Etsy - It's also an amazing altered cigar box.  Well she also mentioned that they have a call for Design Team members - one for cards and one for altered projects.  Woohoo!!!

I'm all done my term on Color me Scrappy and really looking forward to working on some other items - I was getting in a 12x12 rutt :-)

Ok so for my project - I found these amazing unfinished wood tea boxes at Dollerama for $3 - yes $3 and thought that would make an amazing Christmas present.

I already had Garden Tea Party paper stack from DCWV and thought it would be perfect.

Take a look at my YouTube channel for the video - giving a description of how I altered the box.

I used some of my sacred items from my stash including the felt die cut strips that are adhesive - love the way they look on the glass lid.

Here the inside - I covered all sides with the patterned paper which is already tea stained.

Take a look at Discount Paper Crafts on Etsy - I've taken a look and I'm in love - she has amazing projects and great prices.  I already have a wish list going.

To Cathie at Discount Paper Crafts - thank you for the opportunity to apply - it would be a great privilege to design for you.

Don't forget to get in on my first give away and stay tuned - I've been collected some mixed media supplies and am working on some new projects.

Halloween in Wonderland and Room Tour!!

 Good Morning!

I finished my last halloween project which is this amazing paper bag album made with Graphic 45's Halloween in Wonderland.  I was so excited I had to make a video (note to self - wait until the sun comes up for better quality video)  Oh well!!

I used white paper bags and sprayed them with Glimmer Mist in Peach Delight and Fully Purple - so pretty and shiny but I used a lot of glimmer mist for only seeing such a tiny part of the bags.  You'll have to take a look and see what you think.

I really love the way the binding turned out on this one - very nice and clean with the burlap covered with spider web netting - which is flocked.  Gotta love the dollar store!

So check out the video HERE and I also uploaded a video of my room tour - so exciting!

BAcraftygirl Halloween Challenge

Okay, so I'm sure most of you know that I'm a silent stalker on youtube - I get some great ideas and tons of inspiration from videos on youtube and pictures from the internet.  I thank everyone out there that shares their ideas and projects and I'm slowly working my way up there myself and adding some inspiration onto the net.

I may not always leave a comments but I'm trying to let others know that they are great!!  Well tonight I noticed that there were a lot of videos out there entitles BAcraftygirl video response so of course I had to check it out.  Head over to BAcraftygirls channel and become a subscriber she has great projects and cards and gives some great how to's.  She also has issued a challenge for halloween or fall inspired projects with some rules - and amazing prizes.  So I figured how better to get out there than to make a card and get in on her challenge.

Here are the rules:

1. colours - purple, black, orange, white & green - awesome!!
2. use two stamps - easy peasy
3. washi tape - love it!
4. any item - layout, card, frame, altered item or home decor
5. new project - of course!
6. upload video response or blog posting
7. be a subscriber - DONE!

Oh and the deadline is - YIKES - tomorrow!!  So I decided to make a card and unfortunately I am waiting on my super long download putting my room tour video into youtube so I was not able to make a video response - blog posting will have to do.

I used these super cute trick or treater stamps from my stash - sorry I don't know the brand because the package does not have a label on it - it was one of my garage sale finds.  I also used a Michaels $1.50 stamp - Trick or Treat on some white washi tape and added in a piece of polka dot washi tape.  I also added a really cute pinwheel (first one I ever made) for some embellishment.

Sorry that the pictures do not do it justice it is very dark here right now and way past my bedtime :-)
Take a look at BAcraftygirls youtube channel and I hope you enjoyed my card.

IT'S A GIRL!!

Very exciting news!!  My brother and his wife had their first baby yesterday.  Arianna was 6 lbs, 6 oz and 18 in long.  So tiny!

Well I won't get to see her just yet but I finally finished her mini album.

I've been working on it for a while and was stumped on the cover.  I knew I wanted it to say "it's a girl" and have some flowers but didn't know how to do it.

I found this resin crown in my stash and knew I had to use it!!
The inside pages are all made with envelopes and I attached flaps for additional photo space.

Check out the video on you-tube HERE to see the rest of it.

Color Me Scrappy - Challenge #13

Here we are at Challenge #13 with another great color palette.  This one is called Charred Hues with some great blues, tans and warm yellow.  Love those colors together.

I was looking through my photos and found a color copy that I had taken of a family photo from when I was just a little girl.  It is my brother, sister and I all dressed up - of course - in some pretty retro clothes.  Well it was the 80's you know!!

I pulled out a light kraft background and distressed the edges and then matted the photo in a nice blue.  The embellishments are from the K & Company "Handmade" ephemera pack.  I cut flags out of some my minds eye lost and found paper along with the Adore label.  I tied it all in by attaching the photo with some really cool text washi tape.  I love how it looks all yellowed and old.

Don't forget to head over to Color Me Scrappy and check out what the rest of the design team has done.  Get you layout done for a chance to win a great prize.
