Loads of Holiday Cheer

As promised I have another christmas card to share with you. This one was made with SU's Loads of Love. I've had this set for quite some time, but rarely use it. I really love the way it worked out. I stamped the truck and coloured in with my prismacolour markers (of course) and cut it out to pop up on top of the trees, which are from Lovely as a Tree.

It is very simple and glittery!! I gave it some glitter snow with a snowflake spot stamp, my glue pad and glitter, love it.

I also received another birthday card in the mail today from another SBS22 sister, Marge. Thanks Marge, I really appreciate the lovely card.

Happy Stamping!

Thank You for the Birthday Wishes

It was so exciting yesterday to get the mail and find birthday cards on my actual birthday, lol.

I received a couple of cards from some of my SBS22 sisters (thanks girls) and then of course from my family. I took some pictures to share, they aren't great quality since it was late when I got around to doing it. And then little man woke up and decided to play until after midnight, so of course I didn't get a chance to post yesterday. But I'm here today...
...from Chrissie
...from Peggy
...my mom
...my little Madie (I think Nana helped her colour ;-)

Well thank you everyone, your cards are awesome and very appreciated. I'll post some more christmas cards later today.

I love Snowmen!!

Today was a pretty productive day. Jonathan had a great time on the kitchen floor while I coloured and crafted. Note to self - look at baby every now and then, especially if he is quiet:-)

Nope that's not lipstick! Don't tell his sister that he tried eating her handmade Valentine's card - thank god it was non-toxic marker :-) and washable.

Now on with the card...
I believe that this is a Whippersnapper snowman. Very cute! The saying on the inside is an Annie's Attic stamp. Fit perfect.
Well tomorrow is my birthday :-) Just having a quiet cardmaking day and ending it off with my favorite DQ ice cream cake, yah me!!

Sleigh Full of Presents

Here's another new christmas card made with SU images, sorry but I don't remember the name of the set. I picked the background paper that was all presents in blue, green, pink and red. There is also glitter all over the background paper, so I added some glitter to the bows on the presents and the stars on the sleigh and reindeer. I still need to put a greeting on the front but I was too tired to finish :-)

So tomorrow it's back to more christmas cards and gift card holders. Have to see how much I can get made in a week. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Highschool Musical - Woohoo!!

Sorry no cards today...I picked up Madison after school and drove over to Westmount to see Highschool Musical 3, yah me. I bought the tickets on Wednesday for the 7pm show today. Can you believe that when we got to the mall at 5pm there was already one person in line, lol. We got out dinner and while we were eating the food court started filling up with tons of little girls so we knew it was time to hop into line. And wowee it started getting crazy in there.
Can you believe that a bunch of little girls are much louder and rowdier than the theatre during Mama Mia. Everytime Troy did something cute they started screaming. It was hilarious. I like the first two movies better, but this one was still okay :-)

Well time to get some cleaning done before I have to head out at 1:30am to pick up my hubby at Robert Q. A week feels like such a long time, can't wait to get him home.

Let it Snow

Well it felt like it was going to snow today, but no way :-)

I got this shaker card put together, but only one, haha. Hopefully tomorrow will be more productive. I think I put a little too much snow in it but at least I know for next time.

Sorry about the picture quality, I didn't want to use the flash because of the window film on the shaker.

I am so ready for bed right now. Madison got an ear infection and decided to pass it along to me and along with that I got a sinus infection. My head is pounding so hard :-( I'm just waiting for Jonathan to tire out so that I can jump into bed.

Only one more day until my hubby comes home from Texas and I get a break, yah me!

Christmas Cards as Promised - Kinda :-)

Okay so this morning was a little fun time with my girlfriend and Jonathan. And then this afternoon it was down to business. I think I'm getting carpal tunel from all the colouring and I don't really feel like I got alot done.

I only put together one card, but I coloured 18 images and cut all the papers to put them together with. First is the ever awesome christmas s___t :-) which is one of my all time favorites from Penny Black.

The next is three different shaker cards using SU's Big on Christmas. I'm going to be doing a rectangular shape box over the stamped image. An idea I got from my girlfriend this morning :-)

I still have to cut out the inside of the frame for the top but other than that they are ready to be glued, after a short trip to the dollar store for the right foam tape. Thought I had it but I guess not. Oh well, who doesn't like a trip to the dollar store. Feels good to get back to stamping and colouring and blogging!

I'm Back!!

Well it's been a trying time, getting my computer on the mend. I have to admit that I kind of took a little crafting break and read the first two books from the Twilight series (in one week!!). I was intrigued by most of the bloggers that I follow posting about these books and the upcoming movie that I just had to get them. So now I have the third book but I know that christmas cards are more important - so minimal reading :-)

I was happy to see some exciting mail in the mailbox today. First was a package from my SBS22 Secret Sister (thank you rocking secret sister ;-) She sent me an awesome Riley halloween card, some Riley images, buttons, ribbon and flowers, woohoo!

And then I got a birthday card from Kathy from SBS22 also. She sent my some awesome bird images which will come in handy for my grandpa's birthday coming up.

Well tomorrow I will have some awesome christmas cards to share with you :-)

Slowly recovering...

Well it's pretty hard but every now and then I get a couple of minutes to get onto my husbands computer and every now and then my computer decides to work for a bit before shutting itself down. It is so frustrating since my email is totally all over the place, when I open outlook on my laptop it receives all my emails from the rogers server, and then I'm not able to see any of them when I log on through the internet on my husbands computer. Sucks, sucks, sucks. Looks like I may be able to save my laptop though, as soon as I am financially able to send it in for some servicing, lol.

Well today I was able to get on for a bit and catch up on all my emails and hopefully tonight I will get a chance to brows my fav blogs. I haven't forgotten about you all...my sbs22 sisters also...I just don't get too much computer time :-(

I finally got a chance today to sit down and make a card. I saw this one done up on a fellow SU demo's site, I loved it, so here's my take. You can check out the original at Heathers blog.
The top of the card is actually a 4x4 coaster that I punched with my SU circle punch and then foam taped to make shaker boxes. I love this and I think I'm finally getting it down pat so it is much easier to make and takes a lot less time :-)
Time to get working on my christmas cards, I already have a good size order and I'm hoping to do a craft show or two this season. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Will be out of commission :-(

Hello everyone. First off all I would like to wish a Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends and sisters!! I'm heading out to Barrie early tomorrow morning to visit with family for the long weekend.

Now for the bad news - my laptop was involved in a bad accident today with a cup of luke warm Tim Hortons coffee and a 7 month old! Needless to say that I am laptopless and heartbroken because I have now lost some really great pictures of lots of cards and lots of cute kids. I don't know how I'm going to fix this or when I will be able to get back to normal, but for now I promise that I will get on my hubby's computer whenever I get the chance and I will continue to post as often as I can.

Happy Stamping!

Snowbunnybella and Secret Sister Mail - What a Day!

I had a chance to play today and the first thing I picked up was snowbunnybella from Stamping Bella. I think she is my favorite bella right now, or just for today :-)

The next thing I picked up was a super bright christmas paperpad by Colorbok. I had bought it at Hobby Lobby last year!
So what do you think, I did three different colour combo's and flocked the fur trim on her coat and boots. I LUV flocking right now.
Here's seperate photos of each...I coloured the images with my Prismacolour markers and used SU punches for the tags. The saying is from SU also. I think the turquoise background is my fav.

Now onto my mail...I received a package from my SBS22 Secret Sister ;-) I got Peggy's Pretties, I got Peggy's Pretties, nana nana poo poo! I wonder who my secret sister is ;-)
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU SECRET SISTER.

Birthday Magnolias

My husband had the nerve to ask me to go out and buy a birthday card for his step-mother the other day. So what was my response..."Can't I make one!!"
I had some really awesome dimensional floral stickers from K&Company and wanted to make a card with them, so I paired it with a Tilda stamp that I bought from the Towne Scrapper in Petrolia, ON. Still not sure what she has in her hands so I decided to cover it up with a flower sticker. I swear I'm going to go online and figure out what it is tonight :-) I coloured her in with my prismacolour markers and added some glitter to her crown. I always forget to add stickles to their wings.

So then I wanted to do some more and here's what I came up with. These Tilda's were from a blog candy that I had won. I just love her.

I started by colouring the image and then picked the paper after. I found this awesome paper that matched perfectly but it was christmas, so what did I do but cover up the christmas parts with more paper punched with my SU circle punch. I was going to add a scallop with a stamp in the middle but it just didn't work out, I might add something else later.

Oh yah, when I went to the mailbox today I had an envelope from one of my awesome SBS22 sisters Becky. She had read on my blog that I loved Hedgies and would really love to get my hands on some of the older SU Hedgies. Well what's just as good as that...some stamped images of them. Wowee, she sent me all of them...halloween, christmas and just because.

THANK YOU SO MUCH BECKY!!

Happy World Card Making Day

I know the day is over here, but I'm sure others are still celebrating, somewhere :-)
You would think that on WCMD I would be in my craft room all day making cards out of the ying yang. But of course that is not the case. Family time comes first for me, and we spent tons of it today. We went to the local park downtown to feed all the hungry squirrels. Madison just loves to feed them, she'll sit there forever to get them to take the peanuts out of her hand. And today we even had one little eager squirrel that grabbed the peanut with his mouth and was grabbing our fingers to keep himself steady :-) Too cute! Too bad we didn't bring our camera.
So I did get a little bit of crafting time tonight and I broke open some pre-made cards from Making Memories. One is a pocket card and the other is a matchbook. I really like the way they turned out. I used one of my fav SU sets called pretty princess.
I wrapped a ribbon around the outside of the card that has a bit of a sheer to the middle. And on the card is a printed line that has some polka dots on it, so they show right through the ribbon, how cute.
On the second card I used all the same stamps and ribbon. These were super quick and easy to make, I'll definately do more of these in the future.
Well hope everyone had a great WCMD and made lots of great cards.

Giving Thanks

After posting yesterdays challenge of paper piecing I was on a paper piecing craze, and was itching to use my harvest set from SU (can't remember the name of it and too lazy to run downstairs to find out :-)
I took out my pattern paper scraps and here's what I came up with.
I stamped all the images on the patterned paper and then cut out, for this one I use the main line of the image as it is a sketchy set. Then I started with the pumpkin on the bottom, stamped it on the cream paper and coloured the stem with my prismacolour markers. Glued on the pattern paper and voila, move onto the next pumpkin until all four where done. Patterned paper is various scraps and letter tiles are from dollar store.

Well I have a new craft to work on lately, one of my daughters friends brought some plastic lacing to school to make bracelets and guess who had to run to Michaels to buy some supplies. She is totally addicted but off course needs some help from her mommy. If only there where more hours in the day.

SBS22 Blog Hop Challenge

It's a couple days late but here you go. This month Tina and I are hosting our SBS22 Blog Hop Challenge. So we are to post a challenge on the first of the month for our fellow blogging sisters...at the end of the month you can pop around and visit their blogs to see all the awesome creations. If you'd like to play along feel free, the more the merrier.

So for my challenge - I challenge you to make a card with Paper Piecing, now if your not sure how to do it I've taken some pictures of my card as I was making it to give you the general idea. Paper piecing works best with images that have large open spaces, if not you will have to be really good with the scissors :-)
So you stamp your image on white paper and patterned paper.
Cut out the pieces that you want to be from the patterned paper. It is best to cut as close to the lines as possible.

On the white image you colour in any sections that are going to be left original. In this one I am paper piecing the hat and cape. I realized when I was putting the paper piecing on that I forgot to colour her tail and hair, hehe.

Then you can glue your patterned pieces to the coloured image. I recomend a glue pen and applying the glue to the white image first. I opted to cut out the whole image after and apply to my card with pop dots.

I also paper pieced the cauldron with the same patterned paper. All images are from the SU set Haunting Halloween. Except for the little spider which is from Studio G.

Come play along.

Edited - I just thought of so much more to add. Like the inside of the card to complete the saying and I have a close up of the cauldron. I added crystal effects to the bubbling potion.
