SBS22 - September Blog Hop Challenge

This is the first every Blog Hop Challenge for my Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers group, which is being hosted by Spike. Hop on over and check out her blog...awesome. So the september challenge was to create a 6×6 Fall, Halloween or Thanksgiving Card. That’s it! Use whatever stamps, techniques, paper, etc that inspires you!

Optional Twist! For those who have taken a shining to sketch challenges, create a 6×6 Fall, Halloween or Thanksgiving Card using the sketch below...

So as I was rummaging through my drawers this evening looking for some jumbo eyelets for another project, I found these cute little wooden halloween embellishments. My mom had bought these at the dollar store probably last year or the year before and I just put them in the drawer and forgot about them. Since I made a little resolution this year (to myself) that I would start using the supplies that I have been hording all these years, I thought...excellent these will be great. I love how this card turned out, but it is definately not one to go throught the mail :-)

The base of the card is just black cardstock, followed by a layer of purple handmade paper (purchased at Costco). The next layer is more black cardstock followed by two layers of Magnolia patterned paper, love it. The only stamping is the Happy Halloween, both $1.50 stamps from Michaels. Believe it or not the Happy is from "Happy Holidays".

Now on another note, I just wanted to share why I could never be a hand model, like some other great stampers that like to show off their manacures...note the Tempting Turquois on my finger tips and the Basic Brown on my fingernails. I definately get down and dirty when I'm crafting :-)

Recipe:
Stamps: Michaels
Paper: Magnolia patterned paper, Black Cardstock and Handmade paper unknown
Others: Wooden Embellishments from dollar store.

Happy Stamping!
Sarah

  1. I fully understand - my hands are even more covered with ink than yours:O( I keep baby wipes next to my work area and still get covered in ink.
I love your blog hop sketch card. I'm thinking about what to do for my card.

  2. Great job, Sarah, for both the sketch & challenge! Totally understand the "not mailable" card; so many of mine are the same! I do like those thick embellies!!! ;-)
