A Cute Desk Set

I've had this project in mind for a while but have never gotten to it. Well today was the day. This project is made from two sizes of chipboard coasters, some paper, flowers, images and pearl brads. And last but not least a calendar note pad set from Michaels!

Don't you just love this little Pagent Winner! She is a cute little Whipper Snapper Designs stamp that we picked up at the London Scrapbook Expo last saturday. I couldn't leave the little girl behind :-)

Okay so the first one is a large coaster with a To Do list that hangs on the wall. The coaster is an odd size (around 5 3/4 or something like that). I took some green cardstock and wrapped around. It isn't glued down in the front so that when your paper pad is empty you can just slip it out and slip in a new one (oh yah, I'm smart!). I added in a cute little saying from SU, some Prima flowers and a pearl brad from K & Company. The little pageant girl is coloured in with my prismacolour markers and the crown has some added glitter with a Sakura Gel pen.

And the second part is a little stand up calendar. It is made with two 4" coasters covered with paper and hinged with some cardstock. Once you get the calendar on there isn't much room to play around so I just added the flowers and pearl brad to keep the theme going.
The blue paper is from Magnolia and the green cardstock is Bazil Bling. They matched really good with the calendar.

I just wanted to share with you the cutest little guy. He is definately growing by leaps and bounds, Jonathan will be 7 months on Oct 3rd. He's totally mastered crawling at a super speed and has started couch walking. There is no doubt that he will be walking by christmas. I only hope that the christmas tree will survive his first christmas. We might have to go out and buy the gate that is big enough to make a little yard and put it around the tree, lol. It's gonna be fun.
Today Jonathan was sporting his "little man" golf shirt with his "railroad" jeans (they have the cute little stripe in them) and then his Faded Glory cowboy boots from Walmart in the states (we don't have Faded Glory in canada). The top of his cowboy boots is camo print, so cute.

Back to our Regularly Programmed Schedule

Woohoo, I got two cards done today. It felt really good getting some cards done. After I took a huge nap to try and get rid of this darn headache. I think the weather change is getting to me. It's been really cold today and then tonight I am just sitting here listening to the rain, yuck!!
The first card I have for you is a great ExpectaFellaBella card. I absolutely love the way this card turned out. I had coloured the image ahead of time with no idea what the card would look like. The background paper is from my recent trip to Hobby Lobby, my mom and I bought 4 12x12 paper stacks that were all awesome glitter paper (unfortunately I can't remember the brand and my mom got the packaging that gives the deets). The turquoise and green stripes are full of glitter and it looks so awesome. The pink swirl on the side is from making memories and is an acetate accent, on top of that is a prima flower and a rhinestone brad. The saying is from SU.

Next is this super cute Pirate card from High Hopes. The only thing I have to say is that I really need some pirate-y sayings. The images were coloured in with my prismacolour markers and the sails and shirt of the pirate are masked and sponged with SU inks. Oh and the water too!

I can't wait til my little guy gets bigger and I get to make birthday invites and such for him and his little friends :-)

Have a great night everybody.

I did it - all done - and now I can play!

160 mini gift bag wedding favors done and ready to be delived :-)

I thought I'd share what I have been working on (and complaining about) for the past little while.

These are mini gift bags made with a 6x12 sheet of paper and wrapped around a wooden tea box, so super cute and very time consuming.

I had to use my SU scallop punch on a strip of white cardstock for the top of each bag and then punch out the SU scallop circle and the the two largest SU circle punches for the tags. On the other side of the tag I printed from the computer "Thank you for sharing out day" and punched with the SU circle.

I'm glad they are done and I know for next time that I deserve a lot more than $1 each to make these little guys.

Can you see the little guy in the back just waiting for my back to turn so that he can stick one of them in his mouth :-)

Now for the fun stuff - here's a little sneek peek of all my fun purchased from the scrapbook expo here in London on saturday.

Can't wait to colour some up and make some awesome cards.

My Bitter-Sweet Day

My day started off with a trip to the local flea market, where they have scrapbooking supplies, hehe. And ended up at the London Scrapbook Expo. My mom told me that it was on this weekend and we were kinda debating whether or not we should go...there wasn't much advertising and there didn't seem to be alot of vendors. But it ended up being an awesome idea. The first booth we went to had all Maya Road Chipboard albums, boxes, etc. Wowee that was fun. And then we found this stamp store in Petrolia, hello Petrolia!! (not very far from me at all) that sells MAGNOLIA STAMPS!!, WHIFF OF JOY STAMPS!!, PAPER PRETTIES STAMPS!! and HIGH HOPES STAMPS!! Hello where have you been all my life.

But sad to say that I am not allowed to look at my purchases or touch them. My mom took them home with her and has told me that I cannot touch until these darn favors are done. And I was going to take pictures to show you what I'm working on and I just realized that my mom has my camera too. Fancy that!!

So hopefully I will get them done tomorrow and then I can show you everything I got :-)

Some Cute Cards

I made these cards a couple days ago for a special secret someone :-) but I couldn't wait I had to share. I used some of my favorite Penny Black images coloured up with my Prismacolour Markers. Backed by a cuttlebug embossing and a little bit of ribbon. Now check out the bling on these cards. HUGE rhinestones from the dollars store (oh ya) with a prima flower. Who wouldn't want to get one of these cute cards from a friend.

I so have to get back to work and finish this wedding order. Next time I really need to rethink 160 wedding favors at $1 each. There is so much more work involved in them :-)

I won and made a card out of it!

Look I won some blog candy, and what great candy it was, from Winxy Escapes.

So of course as soon as I get a new image I just have to colour it right away and make a card out of it, hehe. I love these Magnolia images, I would love to get some of the stamps too :-)

Check out what I made. I was going for something a little more for a boy, but's it's hard when I've been all girl for so long. It almost looks like he's sitting on a canoe, at least that was what I was going for.

Image was coloured in with Prismacolour markers. All paper is SU, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive and Kraft. Kraft cardstock was stamped with SU Weathered background stamp. The words are made with Studio G alphabet stamps from Michaels. The old olive cardstock was embossed with my cuttlebug. And I even added in some highlighting with my long lost white gel pen, took me a long time to find that one.

In Celebration of World Alzheimer's Day

One of our fellow blogging stampers has put together the mother of all blog candies in honor of World Alzheimer's Day. She has had many companies and individuals come together with donations and the value is well over $1,000 and growing.

I have made this card using the beautiful Eloise Greengrass from Stamping Bella and the official colour of the Alzheimer's awareness ribbon - purple! Now one of the guidelines was to send to card to someone you know that is a caregiver for an alzheimer patient or if not to the home which her grandmother spent the last few years of her life. I will be sending my card to the staff at the Artman Home as I do not know of anyone in this position right now.

Check out Cammie's blog for more information.

Eloise has been coloured in with my beloved Prismacolour Markers and a little Stickles on the wings. Stampin' Up! Lavender Lace cardstock , the print I cannot remember (took it out of the packaging, silly me). Ribbon is from Michaels. The "Thank You" is from SU stamped in Old Olive and outlined with a white gel pen.

Wow, what a lotta bella's!

Want to see what 1,320 Bella's looks like?
Sorry there was no post yesterday, I was until 1am sorting out Bella's for an image swap that I am hosting on SCS. There were 6 groups of 10 ladies, and each person had to stamp 22 of their chosen image. So all together there were 1,320 Bella's to organize, repackage and send out in the mail :-)PS - Bella loves the Bellas - the ladies in my swap were very lucky to get them back, I had to fight with the wild cat to get mine back, lol.

So with that all sorted I jumped in the car at 8am this morning (let Madison play hooky from school) and headed on over to the border to send out the packages, and go shopping of course! Well only 13 hours later and I'm finally home. Can you believe that Hobby Lobby had 50% off all scrapbooking paper and selected stamps. Yah me!! I have a couple photos to show you a few of my little dollar purchases. Finally found those ever wanted Studio G stamps.

Well back to business tomorrow, have a great night.

Bella Goes Biking

I picked up these scallop cards and jumbo scallops from my local stamp store. I fell in love and wanted to give it a try. So the base of the card is a jumbo purple scallop and then a black scallop card glued on.

Of course Bella has been coloured in with Prismacolour Markers and matted with DCWV glitter cardstock. I accented the card with a metal ribbon slide (from the dollar store) and some Michaels ribbon.

Don't you all want I-Wish-I-Could-Look-so-Good-on-a-Bikeabella!!

A Bad Attempt

I got some little address books that I thought I would cover and fix them up. Well I think I need to take a class on book covering...cause mine sucks!

And not a good idea to take pictures of black on black. It doesn't really help you show up your project...today is just one of those days :-)

The book actually has an elastic that comes around from the back cover to hold the book closed, that's great cause my cover is so tight the book just pops open. Like I said one of those days :-)

You can see the little white spot in the bottom left hand corner, that would be where the paper is torn, lol. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have something much nicer to show you.

Whiff of Joy Stamps - Guest Designer Call

I decided to take the plunge and try out for a Guest Designer position with Whiff of Joy Stamps. I absolutely love their stamps, unfortunately I don't own any yet. I have a little phobia of buying online, that and my husband won't let me :-( I'm going to have to figure out how to get past that.

Well anyways, they are looking for a guest designer for two months so I thought I'd give it a try. I'd really like to become a designer, so this would be a great trial.

This card is for my girlfriend at work that just found out she is expecting, surprise!! She is actually due March 4th which will be a year and a day from when my little Jonathan was born. Too bad that she will be leaving work just when I will be going back, poohy.

I chose Sketch #22 from Katharina's blog as I've always wanted to make a card with a layer that is a circle (in this case scallop). I had purchased these large scallops from my local stamp store and didn't know what to do with them, just really liked them. Usually how most of my supplies end up in my craft room, lol. I decided to accent the card with my fav irridescent flowers from Creative Impressions. And of course the image is coloured with my Prismacolour markers, I'd have to say that they are my number one colouring tool :-)

I really hope Katharina likes it!

If you're interested and want to give it a try...check out Katharina's blog.

Recipe:
Stamps: Stamping Bella - Teddybella, She's Expecting - Studio G
Paper: Blue Cardstock by Bazzil, Glitter Cardstock by DCWV (Nana's Nursery), Yellow DS Scrapbook Paper by SU
Others: Prismacolour Markers, Jo-Ann Essentials Ribbon, Creative Impressions Flowers, SU Rhinestone Brad, SU Round Punches and Small Scallop Punch, Large Scallop was purchased that way at local stamp store - unsure of brand.

Get Wella Bella

I have to make a get well card so I decided what better than getwellabella from Stamping Bella. I've only played around with her so this is going to be my first fully coloured image. The card hasn't been put together yet but the colouring and matting is all done.

Jonathan is still sick today but looks like he might sleep in his crib tonight. Yah me, no couch :-)

Great Mail Day!

I'm am sooo sorry that I did not get any cards done today. My little guy caught another cold but this time it was way worse. The two of us were up all night because he would fall asleep, I would lay him down and then he would roll over and start gagging. Poor little man. I had him in the swing to keep him upright but he still kept waking up every now and then. So the night consisted of swing on, fall asleep, swing off, sleep 20mins, wake up screaming, swing on...you catch the drift. A very sleepless night. And then today he didn't want to take any naps or else he might start choking again...he finally fell asleep at 8:30pm tonight. I held him for quite some time and then put him in the swing, so far so good. "Knock on Wood"

Well enough of that. I didn't get anything done but I did get lots in the mail. I am in the process of wrapping up a Bella Image swap on SCS so these are slowly trickling in. Along with a couple of swaps I received a card from one of my SBS22 Sisters and cards from a swap that I had particiated in (I'll post photos of those tomorrow).

First here is a friendship card from my SBS22 Sister, Deborah(Megan). Thank you Deborah! Oh and thanks for the paperclips too :-)

And I also received this lovely card from Janet (corrosive69), she is the hostess of the swap I participated in which was Rockabella cards. Believe it or not but there is a 3D paint or such on the bunny slippers and her rollers, Very Cute!!

My Bella Sister

I got my first card from my new Bella Sister, Jacqueline. She sent this awesome Cosmobella card and some great images...take a look. Thanks Jacqueline!!

This is my new absolute favorite saying...I think it's going to make a great card.
I had a chance to do a little colouring today while Jonathan was napping. This is my first Teddybella. I'm making a card for a special girlfriend that is expecting. Love it!!
And I just had to share a little something with you...this morning I asked Madison to make her bed and didn't think anything of it. When I was walking by during the day I had to take a double take, see for yourself....
The funny little girl posed her unicorns on the middle of the bed. I know the rest is really messy, she's only 6 and can't even reach accross the bed. It's all about the effort, lol.
