Working hard or hardly workin'?!?!

Okay so I promised some cards, but really the only thing I got done was some super fast "thank you teacher" cards the night before the last day of school, whew. And of course no pictures. So here's a couple of picks of the kids (big and little) on the new toy we got on Canada Day!

Better late than never, I created the post and had to get the pictures off my memory card. Still wanted to share them with you though.

Cleaning Up the Clutter

Okay, so here's what my room has been looking like lately. It is the drop zone, I buy something and drop it off, clean up something and drop it off. Well it has not been fun, since that gives me no place to create.
Well, looky looky. It took me two days of "off and on" cleaning day and night in order to get it in this tidy position. Do you know how good that feels. And I sat down right away on sunday night at 10:30 when I finished to do a card. I got one tiny card completed, blah. I need to get some creativity going.
I'd have to say that this little guy is the main reason for me not getting anything done. He's so cute though, how can you blame him. Doesn't that face just say "what, I didn't do anything".
Oh well, I'll just have to stay up later to get my time in :-)

Keep watching, I guarantee a card any day now.

Stay Tuned

Wow, it has been a long time since I've done this. Life has been crazy. But I got some new stamps this weekend and I am super excited to make some new cards and maybe even do some scrapbooking. So stay tuned cause this is the first place that I will be showing it all off.

Temporary Shutdown

It is so much harder than I thought it would be to get some crafting done, unless I want to stay up all hours of the night. It was okay to stay up late when I was home with Jonathan but now that I'm at work during the day I need my sleep!

So between work and life I am going to have to have a temporary shutdown on my blog. We are in the process of finding a new house and we have to pack up some of ours in order to put it up for sale so of course my craftroom is one of the places that needs the packing. I promise that as soon as we have moved and my new craftroom is set up I will make a card right away. And if I ever get some card time in (I have a wedding order to work on) I promise to share.

Just pretend that I'm taking the summer of but a little out of season :-)

I can see clearly now...

Wowee, what a day! Can you believe that I actually got creative and made some cards - 2 1/2 to be exact :-)
Ever since I saw the tutorial on SCS for the acetate card I wanted to make one, but I usually use my acetate sheets on shaker cards. A couple of weeks ago I co-hearsed my husband into buying me a whole box of 100 write-on overhead sheets ($19.99 at Staples).
So today was the day. I had one of my stamping friends, Amy, over for a little bit of fun. I cut some standard cards and ran them through the cuttlebug embossing folders.
and here's the inside...Don't you just love it. This is one of my new stamps I got from Michaels over the holidays. I loved the first card so much that I just kept going.
and here's the inside...
I know it's hard to see the embossing on the front of the cards, but it looks really awesome irl. I will definately be making more of these.

Here is one of Amy's cards that she made today too..

Hope you enjoyed the cards, it felt really good to get some creativeness going today. I'm back to work on Monday from my maternity leave, really going to miss my little monkey :-)

I made something!! and an Award...

First with the award...

I received this awesome award from one of my SCS friends - that is totally responsible for my Bella adiction :-) Janet. Thanks Janet!

Here's the rules...list 5 of my addictions and list 5 fabulous blogs. My adictions....1.buying stamps, 2.buying ribbon, 3.buying embellishments, 4.buying paper, 5.buying markers...does anyone see the pattern :-) Now for nominating five blogs...I have to say that I am stumped right now, I have not been good at my blog staulking lately so this award is going out to all of you!! Enjoy!

Now for my creation...I have to admit that it is fairly boring but I made something. It was really hard to get into my very messy craft room so simplicity was the rule.

I used Tinkerbella from Stamping Bella, coloured her in with my prismacolour markers and a glitter gel pen. I always like to rub my finger tip accross the whole image after I've used the glitter gel pen, it spreads a tiny bit of glitter all over. The saying is actually a rub on - not sure where it's from but it was in my stash. Here's a close up of tink...
I started some long awaiting scrapbooking today, but not enough to share (only a title page). I will share as soon as I get some more done.

!!HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Look who decided to come back to the world of blogging...

The holidays have been a whirlwind of family, fun, presents and the worst of all sickness!! I have been constantly sick from December 21st until yesterday. The kind that I would never want to wish on anyone :-(

Now it's time for things to get back to normal, get the house re-organized and start the countdown for the dredded back to work. Aaaaagghh! Did I actually say that, I have to go back to work, booooo. It's about a month early but you gotta do what you gotta do. I'm gonna miss my little man, and maybe his sister too :-)

I would love to be a stay at home mom, but I don't think I would be very good at it. I never have dinner made on time and card making generally takes president to cleaning the house. If only I could win the lottery so that I could stay home and have a maid, lol. Every womans dream!

This weekend I'm going to start off right and clean up my craft room so that I can easily get in some crafting time when I get home from a long hard day at work. And then I hope to have some awesome new cards for you. I might even do some scrapbooking, it's been way too long for that.

Snow Day!!

Of all days, why would they pick the last day of school for a snow day! I was really looking forward to that time to wrap presents. And there was so much snow that we couldn't even go anywhere. Can you say "cabin fever". Of course I wasn't able to get any crafting done, but I was able to take pictures of the teacher gifts I made since we weren't able to deliver them, lol.
The first is a lunch tin of cards for Madison's teacher. She is retiring at the end of the year so I though what better than some "thank you" and "just because" cards.
This is my favorite. I found the instructions here... http://www.stamphappens.com/stamp_happens/2008/08/mini-backpack-r.html
It is the perfect gift box for a teacher. Inside it has some chocolate coins and candy canes. I'll definately be making more of these in the future for all kinds of celebrations.

Merry Christmas to All!!

Well looks like I'm not getting too much crafting done, life is getting in the way. Not sure if I'll have a chance to post before christmas, only one week left and then I'm off to Barrie for christmas. Just wanted to share a couple of family photos of the kids....
Madison always talks about writing Santa a letter but we usually forget about it and don't get a chance, so this year I found www.emailsanta.com and went online with her to send Santa a letter. I have to tell you that it is awesome, they even have a "naughty or nice" list and of course Madie was Nice (daddy was naughty and is definately getting coal). She even got a reply of Santa right away. Just love it.

Well, just wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Hannukah!! Hope everyone has a great holiday season.

Blog Candy Galore

You would think that now I have my own computer I should be able to blog more, but it's a real learning curve :-) I have to get used to everything again, and blog staulking really makes time past so fast, lol.

Here's some great blog candy up for grabs on Papermonkey. And check out this one at Poetric Artistry also.

Good Luck and Happy Stamping!

Christmas Came Early This Year...

YAH ME!!!

Look what I got for christmas this year, just a little early :-) I am so happy, I finally got my new laptop and can get back to all my fun blogging and blog stalking.

I just came home from my first craft show of the season, which was a bust. I know it's pretty late for people to be buying christmas cards, I'm sure most people have already sent theres out. Oh well, craft show is done, company has come and gone. Now I only have to focus on wrapping all my christmas presents and get packed up for our family christmas is Barrie. Then I can play with all my new stamps. And maybe even catalogue them.

This year has gone by so fast and I'm heading back to work at the end of January, boooo! Oh well maybe next year I'll be more prepared for all the christmas craft shows.

Here's a bella Teacher card that I made for the craft show, didn't sell any, but I know what cards Madison can use for her teachers :-) Love this teacherbella, she is super cute, thanks to my bella sister Jacqueline for sending her to me.

Chillin with my Penquin Boys

I don't know why I think these are boys but they are super cute! Don't you just love them. I just had to use my chunky ice glitter for the iceburg and the snowflakes. Can't really see it in the picture but it is awesome.

Image was coloured in with prismacolour markers. I didn't put any colour on the penquins body but I'm thinking maybe I should have. I have to refil my ink pad as it is a little low, too much stampin'.

Well I have a house to clean and a craft show to get ready for. It's going to be a very busy week and weekend :-)

CD Tin Calendar

Thought I'd give you a sneak peek of what I've been working on, it's not complete yet but it's really the only thing I've been working on. I decided to make some calendars for christmas presents and have had these cd tins lying around. Now I just have to come up with a way to stand it up.
All the of the images are Bellas. It was so hard to pick 12 out of so many of my favorites. Here are the first 6 months...
Each of them are going to be double sided with the other six months and then all packaged in a cd tin. I really hope my cousins like them.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Just wanted to send out a Happy Thanksgiving to all of my American friends and sisters! I may be in Canada now but most of you don't know that I was actually born in Concord, New Hampshire and lived in the states until I was 3. With a Canadian mother and an Amercian father we celebrated both thanksgivings every year. Yah me! Double turkey and best of all double pie :-)

Sorry about the lack of postings lately, it is really hard to share a computer with a workaholic. But the end is near, I am getting a new laptop for christmas, and this time Jonathan will not be able to give it any drinks :-)

Glitter Snowflake Fun

Here's another of my cuttlebug creations. For this card I used the rubber gasket from the hardware store and the snowflake embossing folder. In the centre is an SU Penguin from Punch Pals. I added lots of glitter with my favorite diamond stickles. I kept the card fairly plain but I still really like it.

Happy Holidays times two

I finally got some cards put together with the images that I coloured during my relaxing two day vacation, hehe.

Whenever I need a small simple saying for the front of my card I usually turn to my Michaels $1.50 wood stamps. This Happy Holidays is one from last year and is one of my favorites.
The first card is one that has a little non traditional colour with the turquoise. I actually coloured the image to match the paper for a change. For a little bit of embelishment I added a picture hanger with some ribbon tied on. Very cute.
This one is a Penny Black image from this years collection with my favorite hedgies. For accent here I added a metal christmas tree also from last years $1.50 section at Michaels. Feels good to finally use some of these. I also used my clear Sakura Glaze pen on the christmas lights for a little bit of shine.

Feels great to get some time to create, hopefully tomorrow will be just as good.

Cuttlebug Creations

Ok so when my girlfriend Lisa emails me and card and says "I want to make this"...I deliver :-)

Above is the link to the card that she liked and below is my cards.

It was using the cuttlebug embossing folders but with a portion of the card not being embossed, all one sheet of paper. If you go into the forum it will give you directions, but here's how I did it...
First I cut out frames from some cardboard, I had to use two sheets to get the right pressure. And I also picked up a rubber washer from the plumbing department of the hardware store ($1.27 what a deal).
Here's the order to put it through the cuttlebug...first comes the A plate, then your embossing folder with the paper inside, then your frame of choice and finally your C plate.
All my images were coloured with Prismacolour markers and then stickles were added for some bling. The wreath got some rhinestones from the dollar store.
What do you think? How 'bout you give it a try, post a link to your creation so I can check it out.

Re-Model in Process

Well now that November is here and half over, I have decided to do a make-over on my blog and add some christmas cheer :-) Just have to come up with a new banner to go with the new background. My current banner is actually a picture that I took myself quite some time ago, maybe I'll see if I can find a nice winter picture.

I'm single for the week so I hope to get lots of cards and blogging done. My husband is off to Texas on another business trip. Isn't he lucky that it decided to snow yesterday and probably for the rest of the week too. I wish I got to go to Texas - were it never snows!!

Keep watching for the full make-over to be complete and some great christmas cards to come.

Snow Much Fun

I took a little break last week and went with my husband to a conference in Toronto. It's only two hours away from where I live but there was a hotel room and peace & quite. How could I resist :-)
I took a great big bag with me full of images and my prismacolour markers. I didn't get much done but it does look like a lot. I finished 12 of these little snow angel boys and then 12 big christmas moose images. It was a great boost to get some cards done.
I had a need for 12 chipboard circles, so I punched them out of my coasters and then was kinda upset that I had used up 12 coasters for nothing really, so I came up with this card. I really like how it turned out and my coasters weren't a waste after all. I put it all together on an embossed card from Michaels (in the $1.50 section) and added some stickles for a little embellishment.
Now only 11 more to put together! All images are from SU.
