Stampoholic Episode 4 - Mouse Pad Grid

This week I had the opportunity to use the Grid Mouse Pads that were created for the Stampoholic regular and Nano tools.  There are very handy for finding the perfect placement for your stamp.  You just use it in place of the regular black foam pad.  I decided to permanently mark on mine the size of an A4 card front and show the centre lines so that I can place my stamps exactly where I want them to appear on my cards.

I also realized that the grid lines are perfect to create shadow stamps.  This is where you stamp an image and then slightly move the paper and stamp again in a different colour to create a shadow.  Makes for a very beautiful sentiment on a card!
I really love how my card turned out - I also added some wink of stella to the word awesome to help it glitter and shine.

Here is the link to my video for this week...
Hope you enjoy the video and get inspired to make many great projects.  But before you go Die Cuts and More is having a give away, at the end of this 6 Video series there will be a draw and you can win a Stampoholic Nano of your very own.  Please see the rules below.

Stampoholic Episode 3 - Red Rubber

Welcome back!

This week I would like to show you how to use your Stampoholic with red rubber stamps. We all know it works great for clear acrylic but did you know that you can take out the foam mat and use it for your larger rubber stamps and it works especially great for the large background stamps.

I always have such a hard time stamping larger red rubber background stamps even after going out and getting the special acrylic rocker handle.  I still get spots that don't stamp well and you know you can't just try and line that up and stamp it again - nope - you have to keep going until you get one that you like.

I have wasted so many pieces of paper trying to get the perfect impression and in some cases just leave the background stamps in my room to collect dust because it is too frustrating.

Well now they can come back out to play.  All you need to do is remove your foam mat and use temporary adhesive on your piece of paper to place it on the acrylic base and then stamp away.  This stamp I used is so detailed that it took quite a few impressions but totally worth it in the end to get an image that you can use and I didn't waste any paper.

Now pull out your red rubber and get stamping.  Check out the video to see my finished cards and the full process.

Hope you enjoy the video and get inspired to make many great projects.  But before you go Die Cuts and More is having a give away, at the end of this 6 Video series there will be a draw and you can win a Stampoholic Nano of your very own.  Please see the rules below.

Stampoholic Episode 2 - Die Cut Images

Welcome back for Episode 2 - this week I would like to share some tips and tricks on using stamped images that come with thin metal dies.  The first set that I am using is the solid metal dies which you have to cut first and then stamp - by using a template in your Stampoholic it makes it so much easier to line up the stamp and get a perfect impression every time.

For more detailed instructions please check out the youtube video attached.

Now the second set that I used is the open metal dies.  Generally you would cut these apart and then place them on all your images that you have stamped in various places on the paper.  By keeping the dies attached you can stamp and cut all in one run through your die cut machine.

First you place your dies cutting side down on your stampoholic as shown.

Then you would position your stamps in the spot for each die, wiggle them into place and then close the lid to transfer them over.  Then you can stamp as many as you want and when you are ready to die cut you just place your die over top and run it through your die cut machine once.

You will definitely want to see the video to watch this one in action =)

Here are the copic colours used in the above cards.

Hope you enjoy the video and get inspired to make many great projects.  But before you go Die Cuts and More is having a give away, at the end of this 6 Video series there will be a draw and you can win a Stampoholic Nano of your very own.  Please see the rules below.

Stampoholic Episode 1 - Layered Stamps

Today I would like to share the first of my projects for the Stampoholic tool from Die Cuts and More.
Image result for stampoholic
This tool can come in handy when you are trying to perfectly position sentiments or other stamps and great for when you are not always able to get a perfect impression on your first try.  The paper and stamp stay in the same position so that you can stamp over and over.  But I would like to share some other uses for this tool.

The first project that I have to share is this "Lovely" Anniversary card.  I want to share how you can position your multi-layered stamps so that you can use them over and over again to make more than one image without having to place the stamps every time, which can take a lot of time and patience.

You will need a stamp set that has layers to the image and co-ordinating inks to stamp the layers in.  I am using the Vintage Roses stamp set from Altenew and Stampin Up Inks.

This is a very hard process to explain so please check out the video attached.  Below is a photo of what the stamps will look like after you have gone through placing and stamping for your first image.  Once they are all in place you can just put in a piece of paper and ink up the stamps one corner at a time to stamp as many images as you want.

Hope you enjoy the video and get inspired to make many great projects.  But before you go Die Cuts and More is having a give away, at the end of this 6 Video series there will be a draw and you can win a Stampoholic Nano of your very own.  Please see the rules below.

A Winter Card with Some Odd Girl

Today I am playing around with Some Odd Girl Digi images - Snowball Tia and Winter Tobie.
I printed them on Crafter Companion paper and colouring them in with my Copic markers.  If you are interested in the colours used I do have a process video on youtube.

On the front of the card I die cut watercolour paper with the snow capped mountains from Mama Elephant and some stitched landscapes from the stitched landscape trio - also from Mama Elephant.  I used Evergreen Bough distress Ink on the mountains and left everything else the white watercolour paper for snow.

The sentiment is an old wooden stamp (one of my fav's) from Penny Black.

On the inside I used a spellbinders die and some of the patterned paper along with Winter Tobie.
So cute.  Please take a look at my video on youtube to get a better look and visit Some Odd Girl for some great digi and clear stamps.

Another Embossed Background

I had so much fun with the tree background that I decided to try a different one.  I picked this triangle embossing folder from WeRMemory Keepers and did the same technique.  You can see the whole process from start to finish on my YouTube channel.

I used the Booyah stamp set from Lawn Fawn, my favourite Halloween stamp set this year =)

Embossed Backgrounds

Just wanted to pop in really quick to show you a card I made last night and to let you know that the tutorial is up on YouTube.  All you need is watercolour powders (I used Nuance by Magenta), watercolour paper, an embossing folder and something to colour in your trees.

You can easily do this with Brusho or Color Burst if you have them.

Hope you like it!!

More Fall Fun with The Greeting Farm

I really enjoyed making my fall card the other day so I thought I would share the process in a YouTube video.  I started out by filming two backgrounds using the Nuance Powders from Magenta (a canadian company!) with the beautiful fall colours.  And then I stamped out a couple of my Greeting Farm images to colour in.

For the first background I put blue in it by accident, but it still turned out so pretty.  I coloured my image with a little bit of blue to bring out the colour.

The second one was just perfect with the little touch of green.  both of the them were framed with the scalloped card front from Mama Elephant and adding a little banner with an image.

The funniest part was I didn't realize until I was colouring out the last image Evie from the Super Secret Stamp Club that she is holding a phone and not a coffee mug like I thought.  I had to have a second take when I noticed the little dot in the top right hand corner and realized that that was the camera from her phone - too funny!!

Check out my video for the background and colouring process.  I did show my peerless water colours and how I use them when colouring images like this.  And don't forget to subscribe when you are over there =)  I will be having a giveaway soon to celebrate my growing subscribers.

Happy Fall Y'all!

Today is the first day of fall so I'd like to celebrate with a fall card.  I was playing with my Nuance powders from Magenta and made a beautiful background that reminded me of fall leaves changing colours, so I wen through my stamps to find an image that would go with a fall theme.  I picked this super cute Tawny from CC Designs Pollycraft by Paula.  I just love their little images, they are so cute.

I stamped the image out in Black Licorice MFT Hybrid Ink and coloured it up using Peerless Water Colours.  I love the bright colours that you can achieve with these water colours and they are so fast and easy to use.

The saying is from a CC Designs AmyR set called Happy Harvest.  Those AmyR sentiments are the best for cards and more.

To finish off the card front I wrapped some black embroidery thread around and tied a bow, added some acrylic leaves and popped up the image on foam tape.  I will be sharing this card in more detail on my YouTube channel later this week.

Happy Fall to everyone!!

Bring on the Marching Band...

Anybody miss me??  Well I'm sure if you've been following me on YouTube and Instagram you haven't missed a thing.  But I thought I would come back to the world of blogging.

Lately I went a little crazy at Simon Says Stamp and who wouldn't during this wonderful holiday of Stamptember - yup Stamptember.  September is the month that Simon puts together a new release and also does collaborations with other stamp companies to produce exclusive stamp sets that you can only buy during the month of September or until they are sold it - which is pretty fast some times.  So normally I don't get caught up in the world of "I have to buy it before it's sold out", but when you get the emails and follow them on Instagram and see all the images and samples.  I just couldn't resist.

So I thought I would share with you a card that I made as soon as this cute little stamp set showed up in the mail.  I used Band Camp which is a Stamptember exclusive from WPlus9.  They are so adorable and I love the sayings so much.

The background was created with Nuance powders from Magenta.  I coloured the little band members with copic markers and fussy cut them out to glue down on top of he background.  To finish it off I embossed the saying in black embossing powder.

Really love these cute little guys and the images and saying are so versatile.

Check out my YouTube channel for a close up of these and stay tuned for more super cute cards =)
