Frantic Stampers Performing Lion Die

Hello Everyone!

Today I am coming to you with some projects for Frantic Stamper.

For this card I created the background using the Stitched Rounded Rectangles.  These are great for making mats for your cards and projects and even frames.  I placed the two largest dies together on my die cutting machine to create the stitched frame for the bottom layer and then Die cut another piece of patterned paper to create the focal image on for the front of the card.  This piece was placed on the card with foam tape to add some dimension.

For my focal image I used the Performing Lion die cut.
To create a really good look with your die cut images you can cut the image out multiple times in different colours of paper, for this image I chose patterned paper and then used distress inks to shade the entire image and also on the triangle cutouts of the stand to make them darker.  I then added a piece of paper to the back of his head for the ear cutouts and added small dots of black marker for the eyes and nose.

To finish the card off I stamped my sentiment and added accents with Nuvo Crystal drops in Apple Green.  This is one of my favourite embellishments right now.

When I was die cutting my Lion in the different patterned papers I noticed that the head by itself was a super cute bear face so I made this little pinwheel with the bear face.  I used the new Pinwheel die which is so great!!  I just attached the pinwheel to a paper straw and ta-da!  Magic.  These would make great wands for party favours.

I hope you enjoyed my projects for today and please check out Frantic Stamper for some great dies and stamps.

Happy Papercrafting!

Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Here is my first project for the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

The DT from the Not2Shabby Shop are playing along and Not2Shabby Shop is also participating as a super sponsor.

The hop runs from December 9th to 16th and you can participate by creating a project with a winter theme using coffee, tea or hot cocoa.  There are many prizes to be won including a $25 gift certificate to the not2Shabby shop.  And to make it easier for you to find all the coffee related stamps Jamie has created a section in the shop - just click here.
Even more exciting news there is a special coupon code during the hop for 15% off your purchase just use the code COFFEE.

Now to get on with my project.

I had to make a special card for my boss from the whole team and since our gift was coffee themed then this was the perfect opportunity to use some of my coffee stamps.  I decided to use the new Coffee Hedgehog from Gerda Steiner Designs and paired with it the Hedgehog with Sign.  These two are so cute.  My design was to stack them like a Christmas tree and use their signs to send our message.

I have to say that they worked out perfectly and the only masking I needed to do was for the coffee cup on the top hedgehog.

To colour my image I used Derwent Inktense pencils which I received as a birthday present this year, I am still new to them and working out how they work and what I can do with them but I have to say I am very happy with them.  The colours and very bright and Intense (hence the name).

If you would like to see my process video for colouring these super cuties then please check out my YouTube channel here.

Please hop along and visit the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog HERE.

I hope you enjoyed this project, don't forget to check out the other members of the Not2Shabby Shop DT.

Stampoholic Episode 2 - Die Cut Images

Welcome back for Episode 2 - this week I would like to share some tips and tricks on using stamped images that come with thin metal dies.  The first set that I am using is the solid metal dies which you have to cut first and then stamp - by using a template in your Stampoholic it makes it so much easier to line up the stamp and get a perfect impression every time.

For more detailed instructions please check out the youtube video attached.

Now the second set that I used is the open metal dies.  Generally you would cut these apart and then place them on all your images that you have stamped in various places on the paper.  By keeping the dies attached you can stamp and cut all in one run through your die cut machine.

First you place your dies cutting side down on your stampoholic as shown.

Then you would position your stamps in the spot for each die, wiggle them into place and then close the lid to transfer them over.  Then you can stamp as many as you want and when you are ready to die cut you just place your die over top and run it through your die cut machine once.

You will definitely want to see the video to watch this one in action =)

Here are the copic colours used in the above cards.

Hope you enjoy the video and get inspired to make many great projects.  But before you go Die Cuts and More is having a give away, at the end of this 6 Video series there will be a draw and you can win a Stampoholic Nano of your very own.  Please see the rules below.

Guest Designer, Little Blue Button Stamps - Yah me!!!

Hi Everyone!

I am so happy to be coming to you today with a project for Little Blue Button Stamps.  I was chosen to be a guest designer for the month of June and will be sharing three projects with you.

So, for my first project I started with Sweet Geisha Charlie and I wanted to alter an item.  I chose a paper mache note pad holder that has been in my stash for quite some time.  I started by colouring it with black gesso and then covering it with patterned paper from the Bo Bunny Enchanted paper line.

She turned out so sweet.  I coloured her up with Copic and Spectrum Noir markers and added some glossy purple with a Sakura gel pen.  I used the Tim Holtz Ornate frame for the background and stood it up with a picture frame backing that I pulled off of one of the Micheals $1.50 ceramic frames.
Added some little white doilies from my stash and decorated with roses from Wild Orchid Crafts and cherry blossoms from I am Roses.

Check out my YouTube channel for a closer look and a list of marker colours used.
Stay tuned for more projects before the end of the month - thank you so much for stopping by.

Sorry - forgot to share the link to Little Blue Button Stamps - check them out for some great rubber and digi stamps - http://lbbstamps.com
